On October 30, 2026, Sunwoda said its all-solid-state battery had completed product-design and process verification, and that it was coordinating sample testing with customers. Later reports said Sunwoda had already disclosed customer testing in May 2026, so the October update marked progress in an existing evaluation program.
What Sunwoda reported
The update concerned development of Xin Bixiao, Sunwoda’s polymer-composite solid-state cell. Customer sample testing was being coordinated; the October statement did not describe a completed evaluation.
Xin Bixiao’s reported cell specifications
Sunwoda’s reported figures describe the cell itself. The 400 Wh/kg energy-density figure is a cell-level measurement, not a figure for a finished battery pack or vehicle.
| Attribute | Reported figure or design | Condition or scope |
| Cell capacity | 20 Ah | Cell-level figure |
| Energy density | 400 Wh/kg | Cell-level figure |
| Cycle life | More than 1,200 cycles | Under external pressure below 1 MPa |
| Membrane | 12 μm polymer-composite | Reported cell design |
| Anode | Nanoscale high-entropy silicon | Reported cell design |
SEVB’s reported cell tests
Sunwoda Electric Vehicle Battery (SEVB), Sunwoda’s automotive-battery subsidiary, was reported to have carried out shear, nail-penetration and high-impact tests on the cell, along with a 24-hour hot-box test at 200 °C. A NeoTeo France report says SEVB reported that the cell did not smoke or catch fire in those tests and could still discharge afterward. These results concern a cell, not a vehicle battery pack.
