For moments of leisure, nothing beats YouTube with its extensive and almost infinite variety of videos. But sometimes it can also be useful, as in this case, to learn languages by watching YouTube videos through CaptionPop.
YouTube is not just a site to enjoy your favorite videos; it can also help you learn new languages using tools like CaptionPop. CaptionPop is a web application for watching YouTube videos with subtitles in two languages. When you enter the site, you have to select your native language and the language you want to learn. Once done, a search engine will appear to find videos with the selected languages. For example, in this case I selected "Spanish" as my native language and "English" as the language I want to learn. Right away, I chose a cooking video in English.

As the video plays, you will see the two subtitles below. The first subtitle is in the language you want to learn (with its respective timeline, ideal to not get lost). The second subtitle is below the first and is blurred, so you need to hover over it to display the translation of that line in your native language.
As you can see, CaptionPop is easy to use and very useful for all those who wish to learn new languages. It is ideal to practice with TED talks because they have a greater variety of languages in their videos (unfortunately not all videos have the languages you want to learn). And the best of all is that CaptionPop is available in Spanish and its use is free.
