Geely announced its AI-powered Smart Charging system in Ningbo, China, on September 23, 2026. The company said tests using the Shendun Golden Battery in the Lynk & Co 10 and Zeekr 001 took the battery from 10% to 70% in 4 minutes 30 seconds, and from 10% to 97% in 8 minutes 40 seconds.

Geely’s reported charge times

The two test windows show how long the battery took to reach different charge levels: 4 minutes 30 seconds for the 10%–70% range, and 8 minutes 40 seconds for 10%–97%. Geely describes these as real-world tests involving the Lynk & Co 10 and Zeekr 001.

Geely gives the Shendun Golden Battery a peak charging rate of 12C. A C-rate expresses charging current relative to a battery’s capacity; it is a separate specification from a station’s output in kilowatts.

What the 2,250 kW rating describes

The 2,250 kW figure is the peak rating of Geely’s fifth-generation Smart Charging Station. It describes the station, while the timed results describe how long the battery took to reach the stated charge levels. The rating is not a measurement of power received by either test vehicle.

That distinction matters: a charger’s maximum output and a vehicle’s charging performance are different measurements. Geely’s announcement pairs the station rating with battery charge-time results, but the two figures describe separate parts of the charging system.

How Geely says the system manages heat

Geely says Xingrui PowerMind, an AI model developed jointly with StepFun, predicts battery temperature up to 30 seconds ahead and adjusts charging power dynamically. The system’s stated temperature targets are an average below 55°C and a peak below 65°C.

Geely also describes a five-point liquid-cooling system covering the station’s energy-storage battery, charging pile, cable, vehicle charging port and battery pack. Separately, the company says lithium-ion pulse restoration, combined with AI charging management, can increase battery cycle life by 20%.

A separate battery announcement

Geely also introduced the Next-Gen Ultra Short Blade Battery, a distinct product with a stated peak charging rate of 6C. The company says its charging heat is reduced by 10%. Those specifications belong to that battery, separate from the Shendun Golden Battery and its reported 12C rate and timed tests.
