Mailflow is a Google Chrome extension for Gmail that lets you manage tasks, notes, and projects from your Gmail interface. Its functions are so simple that you can add tasks to your to-do list just by checking your email. You can also select text, highlight it, and turn it into a task (with highlighting you get the references).
Once the extension is installed, on the right side of your Gmail you'll find the Mailflow window where you'll have all the tools to manage tasks and projects from your email account.
How to use Mailflow
After adding the extension in Chrome, you'll see the platform icon in the browser's address bar. From there you have to activate Mailflow. Once your account is verified, a folder called “Project” will appear just below the “Spam” directory. You can rename or create subfolders in the directory.
At this point you can start reviewing your emails. If you find something important, just select the text and a small toolbar will appear with three options.
If you choose the “Highlight” option, you can select a color to highlight the text. You can also add the text to a task list by clicking the “To.do” button. If you click the “Note” button, a pop-up window will open that lets you incorporate notes related to the text. In all cases you have to click save so the task appears in the Mailflow window on the right side of the Chrome interface.
How to view selected tasks
You'll see the tasks directly from your Gmail inbox. When you click on the “Project” folder (left side), a project overview window will open that lists your tasks in tabs. In the first tab, called “Overview”, you'll find your pending tasks, notes, highlights, approvals, deadlines, and files. When you click on one of them, the description of each task will be displayed at the bottom. Then you'll find the “To-dos” and “Notes” tabs to view pending tasks and notes. And in the “Email Threads” tab you'll have all the emails where you've highlighted some text.
Thanks to Mailflow you'll be able to manage all your tasks, notes, and projects from your Gmail inbox. A very convenient extension for those of us who use Google Mail a lot to work and manage different clients and goals.
