Dongfeng Motor and CATL reportedly signed a group-level cooperation agreement on Oct. 29 covering an integrated supercharging-and-battery-swapping ecosystem and next-generation charging technology. Separately, 21CBH reported on Nov. 3 that talks over first-launch rights for CATL’s Shenxing III battery remained unsettled.

What the agreement covers

The reported agreement focuses on combining supercharging with battery swapping and developing next-generation supercharging products. 21CBH named Voyah, M-Hero and Epicland as brands expected to be early users of jointly developed products rated at 10C or higher.

Shenxing III launch rights remained unsettled

21CBH reported that Dongfeng had been negotiating with CATL since the second quarter of 2026 for first-launch rights to Shenxing III. Its Nov. 3 account said the allocation had not been settled.

What the charging figures describe

21CBH reported CATL figures of 3 minutes 44 seconds to charge from 10% to 80%, and 6 minutes 27 seconds to reach 98% from 10% at normal temperatures. CarNewsChina separately reported CATL’s claim of an approximately six-minute full charge at normal temperatures. These are separate reported figures for Shenxing III.

How battery swapping fits CATL’s network plan

CarNewsChina reported in April that CATL planned to equip its Chocolate passenger-car and Qiji heavy-truck battery-swap stations with Shenxing charging piles. The report put the year-end 2026 target at 4,000 integrated stations; its Nov. 3 account described a target of more than 3,000.
