After two years: Rick and Morty return to TV! One of the most beloved animated series is coming back under Adult Swim's wing, and we are all as surprised as we are excited. The announcement was published on Twitter by Adult Swim and later on the official Rick and Morty accounts. The statement was made during WarnerMedia's programming launch.
Dan Harmon, one of its creators along with Justin Roiland, stated last year that he wanted a season with more episodes than previous ones. Remember that the first season had 11 episodes and the next two had 10, totaling 31 episodes.
In 2018, Adult Swim requested a total of 70 episodes from the creators, so fans can rest completely easy knowing there is plenty of Rick and Morty to come. What we don't know is how those 70 episodes will be distributed, whether this new season will have more episodes as its creators wanted, and whether the wait between seasons will be shorter than usual.
Despite the announcement, the plot was not revealed, though we only have to wait six months for the return of the best animated series of the moment. The expected date is this November. We'll be ready for the greatest adventures in the universe!
