The end of the third season of Rick and Morty left us wanting more. And although we had a short by Mr. Poopybutthole, the truth is we want more adventures from the mad scientist and his grandson. For now, Adult Swim gives us a slight relief with "Bushworld Adventures", the strange mini episode of "Rick and Morty" that was a joke.
Late in the night of April 1st, when another successful April's Fool (equivalent to All Fools' Day celebrated in the United States, Brazil and several countries around the world) was about to end, Adult Swim broadcast "Bushworld Adventures", the strange mini episode of "Rick and Morty" that was a joke. This special episode shows us a parodic design of Rick and Morty that was not animated by the creators of the series, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland. "Bushworld Adventures" was written and directed by Michael Cusack, a popular Australian YouTuber known for his psychedelic cartoon style, among which is YOLO. This special episode is only about eleven minutes long and is strongly inspired by Rick and Morty but with Cusack's personal style. The plot takes place in an alternative universe, somewhere in Australia, where Reek and Mordi (Australian version of Rick and Morty) travel to Bendigo in search of the Green Cube. Although many people appreciated this new episode, some fans were disappointed that it wasn't the official debut of the fourth season of Rick and Morty.
Remember that last year Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland used All Fools' Day to premiere the third season of Rick and Morty. For now there is still no news about the fourth season, although this special might mark some hope that we have a surprise this year (watch the short The Poop In My Pants where Mr. Poopybutthole mentions that). It's a bit annoying, but if we remember, we had to wait more than eighteen months for the third season of Rick and Morty, and in the end it was worth it. The fourth season of Rick and Morty is expected to return at the end of 2019.
