On September 27, 2026, Vapor reported Grand Theft Auto V averaging 66 FPS during city driving and 80 FPS in other scenes on iPhone 18 Pro Max. The benchmark used 1080p and DirectX 11, and Vapor said its build was still a work in progress, with minor issues remaining. Those are scene-specific averages, not a single rate for every part of the game.
Vapor’s GTA V benchmark
Vapor’s setup used high textures, FXAA, 16× anisotropic filtering, 75% population density, 50% distance scaling and sharp shadows. MSAA was off; the remaining settings were on Normal. The game ran through Vapor’s emulation path.
Resident Evil 4 Remake on iOS
A separate reported result puts Resident Evil 4 Remake at an average of 40 FPS on iPhone 18 Pro Max, at 2,868 × 1,320 pixels and High quality on iOS 27. This was described as native iOS execution, a different path from GTA V running through Vapor.
| Game | Device | Execution method | Reported result | Resolution and conditions |
| Grand Theft Auto V | iPhone 18 Pro Max | Emulation through Vapor | 66 FPS average during city driving; 80 FPS average in other scenes | 1080p, DirectX 11; high textures, FXAA, 16× anisotropic filtering, 75% population density, 50% distance scaling, sharp shadows, MSAA off; remaining settings on Normal. Work in progress. |
| Resident Evil 4 Remake | iPhone 18 Pro Max | Reported native iOS execution | 40 FPS average | 2,868 × 1,320 pixels; High quality; iOS 27. |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | iPhone 18 Pro | Madeira local compatibility and translation stack | 60 FPS initially; 35–40 FPS in later areas; about 25–30 FPS after more play | The initial 60 FPS segment was at 720p. |
Madeira’s Red Dead Redemption 2 demonstration
The Red Dead Redemption 2 example used an iPhone 18 Pro, not iPhone 18 Pro Max. Its reported frame rate began at 60 FPS at 720p, fell to 35–40 FPS in other areas, and reached approximately 25–30 FPS after more play. The sequence does not represent a sustained 60 FPS result.
Madeira is described as running Windows PC games locally on iOS, without streaming from a PC or server. Its compatibility stack uses Wine ARM64EC for Windows applications, FEX-Emu to translate x86-64 instructions to ARM64, and DXMT to translate Direct3D 11 to Metal. The setup requires sideloading and external tools to enable just-in-time (JIT) compilation; Apple restricts JIT use in apps distributed through the App Store.
A separate comparison across Pro Max generations
A side-by-side comparison covers selected sequences in Resident Evil 4 Remake and Assassin’s Creed Mirage on iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro Max. In the Resident Evil 4 Remake sequence, the reported rate was 60 FPS on the newer phone and about 33–46 FPS on the older one; the game’s configuration files were modified for that test. In Assassin’s Creed Mirage at 1,320p, the comparison reported 30 FPS on iPhone 18 Pro Max and about 23–27 FPS on iPhone 17 Pro Max.
